This '53-'56 Ford F-100 truck club was started in 1972 when three individuals met over dinner in Portland, Oregon and discussed their common affection for the fat-fendered Ford trucks. Shortly, the original three enthusiasts were joined by seven others. This small band of individuals shared stories, suggestions, and planned to attend street-rodding events. A goal was then established to maintain a united family-oriented club while promoting enthusiasm for '53-'56 F-100s. Henry's members come from all walks of life: blue collar, white collar, business owners, retirees, singles, married couples, and one-parent families. Our trucks are equally varied from the in-the-building stage, to daily drivers, to nearly perfect examples of automotive engineering. As a club, we enjoy driving our trucks to events near and far. In the past, we've caravaned to Reno, Nevada for the West Coast F-100 Nationals and to the PISRA Family Affair in Chillowack, British Columbia. In 2003 we went to the F-100 SuperNationals in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the F-100. Members again attended the 2006 F-100 SuperNationals in Knoxville, Tennessee. We enjoy varied activities including: rod runs, swap meets, picnics, garage truck-ins, poker runs, touring the scenic highways, etc. In 2007, Henry's Half-Tons Ltd. celebrates 35 years of continuous operation as a not-for-profit club with 25+ member families and nearly 30 trucks.
